| The Monday night game proved
to be the right game for some while others it only caused tremendous pain.
It seems that 3 out of 4 of the teams needed some kind of production from
Philadelphia and for the most part they were let down.... The Third Place game between the Plague and the Hostess Cakes proved to be a close one indeed taking the game all the way through 4 tremendous days of football culminating what most would have thought would have been an exciting Monday night game. And as you can all see from the score of 10 - 7 that not much happened. This proved untimely for the Cakes as they needed Westbrook to pull together a game but as you can see he sat out. The duo of McNabb and Torry Holt of St. Louis gave the edge needed to the Plague as they went on to victory and took home the Third Place prize! Congrats! The Fantasy Bowl IX game was even closer than the other one as both teams were practically neck and neck for most of the weekend. Going into Monday night the Doughboys had finished but the Beavis' were only down 9 points with their Philly Kicker to go. You would think with the loss of Terrell Owens that Philly would be kicking more field goals but as you know from the score of the game that this didn't happen. And thus the Beavis' lose to the Doughboys in the final game of the season! Congrats to both Coaches Wayne and David for a tremendous season! This means the Doughboys take home the prize as well as being able to take on Coach Jim Bowden of the Barrington Bombers from the East Coast Fantasy League as he has proven that he has what it takes to be league champion in that league. We will have our Inter-League Game next week to see who is the champ between the two! |

Center: Yes it is official. After their Third Place Game loss The Hostess Cakes have retired from the X Philes Fantasy Football League. It is with a sad heart that we have to say goodbye to such an illustrious competitor. Surely we will miss the trash talking, the squashed twinkies, and all of the fun that Coach Stone Cold had with Coach Chris. He takes with him his record of utterly smashing the Stunners into oblivion. There is already a waiting list to take over the vacancy. If for some reason all the incoming franchises back out then I will let you know if we need to fill his slot. We've got a few months before this becomes an issue. Jim the Commish |
